Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Biller / Intake Coordinator - Home Health . This role supports both patient intake coordination and billing-related administrative processes within a fast-paced home health environment. The ideal candidate will have a medical billing or coding certification, a basic understanding of medical billing and insurance processes, and strong attention to detail. Home health experience is strongly preferred, but candidates with relevant medical billing or healthcare administrative experience are encouraged to apply. This is a long-term, full-time position for someone interested in building a career in healthcare administration. Training will be provided on our agency's specific home health processes and systems. Key Responsibilities Intake & Referral Coordination Coordinate patient intake for home health services, including gathering and verifying patient demographic and insurance information. Receive, process, and organize patient referrals. Verify insurance eligibility and assist with identifying authorization requirements. Prepare and maintain accurate patient medical records and documentation. Follow up on physician orders and required documentation to ensure completeness and compliance. Enter and update patient information accurately in the electronic medical record system. Communicate with patients, clinicians, physician offices, facilities, and referral sources as needed. Assist with scheduling and coordinating home health visits for clinical staff. Monitor outstanding intake items and follow up to ensure timely completion. Billing & Insurance Support Assist with billing-related administrative processes and maintain accurate billing information. Prepare and submit Notices of Admission (NOAs) as required. Assist with Additional Development Requests (ADRs), including gathering and submitting required documentation. Review patient records and documentation for completeness and accuracy. Assist with obtaining missing documentation needed for billing and reimbursement. Communicate with insurance companies and other payers as needed. Maintain accurate insurance and patient information within the EMR. Apply a basic understanding of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS codes, and insurance processes. Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure documentation supports billing and compliance requirements. General Administrative Responsibilities Support general administrative and telephone duties as needed. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and agency policies. Maintain accurate and organized records. Assist with quality assurance and compliance activities. Perform other related duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Good communication and customer service skills. Comfortable working with computers and electronic medical records. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment. Strong attention to accuracy and follow-through. Ability to communicate professionally with patients, clinicians, physician offices, insurance companies, and referral sources. Requirements Medical billing or medical coding certification required. High school diploma or equivalent. Basic understanding of medical terminology and medical billing processes. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office. Ability to work one Saturday per month as part of a rotating schedule. Reliable transportation for commuting to the office and occasional work-related travel, if needed. Preferred Qualifications Previous medical billing or healthcare administrative experience. Home health experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of Medicare billing and reimbursement processes. Experience with NOAs, ADRs, insurance verification, or authorizations. Familiarity with ICD-10 and
CPT/HCPCS
coding. Experience with Axxess Home Health EMR and DDE. Previous home health intake or referral coordination experience. Growth & Stability Long-term, full-time position. Compensation may be higher based on relevant home health experience.
