50/hr for weekend shifts Boulder Community Health is seeking a Patient Care Associate / Certified Nursing Assistant for our MedSurg, where you will serve as a dedicated patient caregiver. Within our care delivery system, the PCA/CNA performs duties that assist the caregivers and promotes effective departmental functioning. Direct patient care functions are under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CNA certification or equivalent certification is preferred.

Equivalent certifications include:

EMT, MA, Military Medic or completion of 1st year of nursing core classes (not prerequisites for nursing school).

• BLS certification required within conditional period. Responsibilities
• Takes vital signs accurately and timely and reports to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
• Answers patient call lights and performs appropriate follow-up in a timely manner.
• Performs morning and evening ADLs (oral care, bathing, etc.).
• Assists staff with repositioning and patient mobility.
• Independently mobilizes patients.
• Empties foley catheters, urinals, bedpans, commodes, urine hats and drains
• Assists in preparation of patient rooms and admission and transfers.
• Follows patient fluid restrictions and calorie count orders as delegated by nurse.
• Assists staff with repositioning and patient mobility
