33525 Notifies appropriate departments or persons of patient progress. Deescalates patient conflicts by adhering to facility policies and mission. Reviews, facilitates, and validates requests for imaging records for patients and physician offices, releasing records in accordance with HIPAA, federal, and state laws. Researches scripts, previous forms, insurance cards, orders, and changes, and cancels exams as needed using the scheduling program. Operates office equipment such as printers, fax machines, computers, scanners, film printers, and image importing/exporting equipment and software. Attends department meetings consistently, promotes positive dialogue, and reads meeting minutes or handouts when unable to attend. Releases CD images/reports to patients and physician offices, adhering to proper sign-out processes and HIPAA guidelines. Documents received communication from technologists and relays communications from radiologists to the appropriate area in the system. Communicates results with physicians, physician offices, and other clinical personnel continuously, including during system downtime. Other duties as assigned. Answers phones and greets patients and guests using outstanding customer service skills. Registers patients upon arrival, completes registrations timely, collects co-payments, and scans paperwork into the system.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals Ability to multitask and willingness to do so Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English; fluency in the English language Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office; proficient with computer programs and ability to quickly learn various healthcare systems and software Experience/knowledge of computer systems & typing skills, with the ability to type and perform order entry accurately Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including good telephone communication skills Knowledge of Medical Terminology Customer service experience and basic customer service skills; ability to handle patient and physician interaction with tact, especially under stress Hospital or patient care experience [Preferred] Must possess general clerical skills, as well as good communication and organizational skills Ability to use own judgment and initiative to resolve immediate or urgent problems and expedite patient care as needed Processes much confidential information and is the first point of contact for outpatients and their families; primary department interface with Physician office staff Must be able to deal with upset and angry patients and families in a calm and professional manner that invites cooperation and communication Displays professional interactions with all levels of internal and external customers as demonstrated by work history and interview process Strong attention to detail

Education:

High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

1+ year of customer service experience [Required] 1+ year medical office and radiology experience [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:

Basic Life Support
