Full Job Description Credentialing Specialist Pay Range:
$21.00-$28.00 per hour Position Overview VIP Executive Search is partnering with a growing healthcare organization to identify two Credentialing Specialists to support provider and clinical staff credentialing, re-credentialing, compliance, and documentation requirements. The Credentialing Specialist will be responsible for managing credentialing files, verifying professional licenses and certifications, monitoring renewal deadlines, and ensuring providers and clinical staff remain compliant with applicable state, federal, organizational, and payer requirements. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Previous experience in healthcare credentialing, provider enrollment, medical administration, or compliance is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Manage the credentialing and re-credentialing process for clinical staff, providers, and other healthcare professionals. Verify professional licenses, certifications, registrations, education, training, work history, and other required credentials. Conduct and document primary source verification as required. Coordinate and monitor background checks, screenings, and other pre-employment or credentialing requirements. Maintain accurate and complete credentialing files for all applicable providers and clinical staff. Track expiration and renewal dates for licenses, certifications, registrations, insurance, and other required documentation. Proactively communicate with providers and employees regarding upcoming credentialing requirements and missing documentation. Ensure credentialing records remain current and compliant with applicable organizational, state, federal, and payer requirements. Review submitted documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Follow up with providers, employees, licensing boards, educational institutions, and other organizations to obtain required information. Maintain credentialing databases, spreadsheets, tracking systems, and electronic files. Assist with provider enrollment and payer credentialing activities when applicable. Prepare and submit credentialing and re-credentialing applications accurately and within required timelines. Monitor application status and follow up with payers, agencies, and other credentialing entities as needed. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive provider, employee, and organizational information. Assist with internal audits and compliance reviews related to credentialing documentation. Identify credentialing deficiencies and escalate compliance concerns to appropriate leadership. Generate credentialing status reports and provide updates regarding upcoming expirations, pending applications, and outstanding documentation. Work collaboratively with Human Resources, clinical leadership, compliance, operations, and other departments. Stay informed of credentialing requirements, payer standards, and regulatory changes affecting provider eligibility and compliance. Support additional credentialing, provider enrollment, and administrative projects as needed. Required Qualifications Previous experience in credentialing, healthcare administration, medical office administration, compliance, provider enrollment, or a related field. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple credentialing files, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to follow up consistently and professionally with providers, employees, agencies, and external organizations. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems. Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information. Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams. Preferred Qualifications Previous healthcare credentialing or re-credentialing experience . Experience credentialing physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, therapists, or other clinical professionals. Knowledge of healthcare licensing and certification requirements. Experience with payer enrollment or insurance credentialing. Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer, and managed-care credentialing requirements. Experience with credentialing databases or provider management systems. Familiarity with CAQH and other credentialing platforms is a plus. Experience working in home health, medical services, physician practices, hospitals, or other healthcare environments. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus. Compensation The anticipated compensation range for this position is $21.00-$28.00 per hour , depending on experience, qualifications, and overall alignment with the position requirements.
