Job Description

Overview Patient Access Team Lead Marshalltown Hospital Shift/Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, with rotating on-call weekends and holidays Help make accessing care a welcoming and seamless experience for patients and families. As a Patient Access Team Lead, you'll guide daily operations, support your teammates, and work closely with clinical and billing teams to keep patient access services running smoothly. This role combines hands-on patient support with opportunities to coach staff and improve processes. Find a fulfilling career and make a difference with UnityPoint Health. Responsibilities Guide daily patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification operations. Welcome patients and families, answer questions, and help resolve concerns. Coach and train team members, supporting onboarding and continued development. Coordinate staff schedules and coverage to meet department needs. Support accurate patient records, insurance authorizations, and account information. Help patients understand insurance benefits, financial responsibilities, and payment options. Partner with clinical and billing teams to support smooth patient transitions and resolve account issues. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, accuracy, and patient satisfaction. Protect patient privacy and support compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Two (2) years of customer service OR healthcare related experience required.
