Job Description
KOI Imaging Assistant Position Summary:
Assists the technologists with procedures, transporting patients, and cleaning & stocking rooms with supplies & linens.Responsibilities:
Performs various clerical and receptionist duties such as answering phones and contacting patients to ensure understanding of pre-procedural preparation Maintains excellent communication skills when interacting with peers, patients and guests Triages patients to ensure departmental flow is maintained by staging patients in various changing areas and exam rooms Escorts patients to appropriate changing areas and/or imaging rooms, while providing excellent customer service and easy to follow instructions for exam preparation Reviews pre-procedure labs prior to patient arrival Assists with procedures to include exam specific room set-up, ensuring patient comfort, completion of detailed lab requisitions and post-procedure room clean-up Ensures proper stock of supplies and linens to include stocking, ordering and restocking when replacement supplies are delivered Reviews imaging reports to ensure accuracy of result codes that impact patient follow-up Initiates scheduling workflow for patients who need to return for additional imaging or procedures Prints patient letters, as outlined in departmental guidelines Contacts other facilities to obtain outside imaging studies, ensuring images and reports are received and compared in a timely manner Performs a variety of tasks using certain degrees of creativity and latitude Reports to department Imaging Manager Performs other related duties as assigned Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assignedRequirements and Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Minimum 1 year customer service experience required Knowledge of laws or regulations regarding HIPAA and Confidentiality Demonstrate exceptional communication skills Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology, preferred BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or Kootenai Health BLS within 60 days of hireWorking Conditions:
