The successful candidate:
Schedule:
Three (3) 12-hour shifts per week 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Rotating weekends and holidays as needed Patient Access Representative (Night Shift) Performs all tasks related to the EHR admission and discharge process for outpatient and inpatient visits. Ensures accurate patient demographic and insurance information is collected and verified during each registration. Additional responsibilities include generating registration visits for multiple patient types, including surgical, physician office, and patient transfer encounters; managing the registration hotline on a 24/7 basis and the hospitalist hotline; accepting patient payments and issuing receipts; providing patient information; completing required forms; and scanning documents daily.
Position Qualifications Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience:
Customer service experience required Minimum one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting
Preferred Experience:
Hospital registration and/or insurance experience preferred Skills and Abilities Organized and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills Ability to consistently exercise good judgment and follow direction Professional telephone etiquette with strong verbal and written communication skills Self-starter with the ability to work independently Reliable attendance and dependability Software Skills General typing and keyboard proficiency Working knowledge of PC applications and Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.
