Our team works collaboratively to ensure every patient receives exceptional care and support throughout their treatment journey. OSMC is seeking a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative (PSR) to join our team. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, creating a positive experience through exceptional customer service and efficient administrative support. The Patient Services Representative is responsible for patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, payment collection, and maintaining accurate patient records. This role plays a vital part in supporting patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of the practice. Essential duties and responsibilities will include greeting and assisting patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner; registering patients and completing check-in and check-out procedures; obtaining, verifying and updating patient demographic and insurance information; scanning insurance cards, identification cards, and other required documentation into the electronic health record (EHR) system; collecting copayments and other patient payments, issue receipts, and accurately posting payments; ensuring all registration paperwork is completed accurately and maintained in compliance with office policies; scheduling follow-up visits, diagnostic testing, and other appointments according to provider and office protocols; answering incoming telephone calls and assisting patients with scheduling and general inquiries; and collaborating effectively with providers and team members to support quality patient care. Qualifications required are a high school diploma or equivalent. strong customer service and interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency with computers and data entry, strong organizational skills and attention to detail, the ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and the ability to always maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism. Previous experience in a healthcare, medical office, or customer service environment. experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and knowledge of medical scheduling, registration, and insurance verification processes is preferred.
