Job Description

Our front office team has an enormous responsibility - they're in charge of first impressions! We are seeking a customer-service-focused, detail-oriented individual to join our team. This position offers a fast-paced and professional atmosphere, where employees are empowered to use their knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide outstanding patient care. Our mission is to exceed our patients' expectations by providing compassionate personalized eye care while creating an exceptional patient experience.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the patient feels welcome by presenting a warm, professional and caring demeanor. This position is responsible for patient check-in and check out, utilizing practice management software to ensure accurate demographic information, processing transactions, and verifying insurance. We are a multispecialty clinic with 19 providers, so the ability to think critically about different processes that are unique to each doctor is important. The front office supports both the checking in and checking out of patients - so comfort within a high volume, fast-paced environment is essential.
PREREQUISITE EXPERIENCE
Graduation from High School or GED Equivalent. Previous experience in a medical or health care setting.
PREREQUISITE SKILLS
Verbal communication skills are essential in order to develop rapport with patients and accurately communicate with other clinical staff. Attention to detail - assuring all documentation is up to date and accurate. Demonstrated ability in handling patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations. Ability to work both individually and as part of a team. Demonstrated proficiency with technology including basic operating systems, practice management and electronic health records programs, and point of sale equipment is necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have good manual dexterity and ability to write with pencil or ink pen and type/control a mouse. Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time without many breaks.
