Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Office Assistant, where your energetic and detail-oriented approach will help streamline daily operations and enhance patient experiences. Duties Greet patients warmly at the front desk, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes accurately Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic scheduling systems Manage medical records by filing, retrieving, and updating patient information within EMR (Electronic Medical Record) Process medical billing and collections by coding procedures with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10/ICD-9 codes, and handling Medicare claims with precision Assist with documentation review to ensure accuracy of care plans, progress notes, and other medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing excellent patient service and directing calls appropriately Support clinical staff with intake procedures, appointment reminders, and follow-up communications to optimize patient flow Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing practices Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems Experience with insurance verification processes for Medicare and private insurers Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Prior clinic office experience is highly desirable to navigate healthcare workflows seamlessly Exceptional customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards to maintain confidentiality of patient information Ability to perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10-key typing), and managing multi-line phone systems efficiently Embark on a rewarding journey supporting healthcare professionals while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Pay:
