Job Description
Bilingual-Patient Representatives are responsible for registration of patients, including patient interviews, data entry, financial review, insurance verification, explaining policies regarding patient rights and responsibilities, clinic policies, payment of charges and services available. Minimum Qualifications Education High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or higher preferred. Experience One year healthcare experience in patient registration, admissions, or billing preferred. Medical Assistant training preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must possess good computer skills. EMR experience preferred. Must possess strong interpersonal skills. High level of ethics in maintaining patient confidentiality. Ability to maintain courteous and customer oriented demeanor in a crisis situation and acts responsible to resolve or defuse the situation. Ability to assist patients with non-clinical requests as needed. Ability to carry out registration process without interruption due to nature of patient's illness. Ability to adapt well to change. Flexible schedule to rotate shifts as needed. Ability to work closely with co-workers, other clinic staff and patients. Physical and Mental Requirements Sits, stands, walks and converses most of the day. Ability to operate all general office equipment including telephone, calculator, computer, and printer/fax. Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally including pushing, lifting, carrying, and/or pulling objects.
