Job Description
Job Summary:
Expected to provide a high level of customer service and exceptional support for providers in a demanding, fast paced environment. The Patient Account Representative will work to allow an efficient flow of the high volume of Physical and Occupational therapy patients that are treated at the Physical Therapy location. This individual must possess a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver each task on time with minimal supervision.Reporting Relationship:
Reports to the Front Desk Manager and Director of Physical Therapy Job Specific Functions Handle the front office window face-to-face interactions and phone calls. Schedule patients for future appointments and handle co-payments and co-insurance. Collection of patient balances at time of visit Submit necessary information to obtain authorizations for PT/OT visits. Provide the most pleasant and professional interactions with patients and staff Ensure patients are approved and charts are prepared for the next day. Maintain an organized front office to allow smooth work flow. Work closely with Front Desk Manager, Director of Physical Therapy, Staff Therapists and other Front Desk Staff at all clinics Navigate between several software programs and their interfaces Other duties as assigned Additional Knowledge /Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communications skills required. Writing, using proper English grammar, spelling and punctuation, sufficient to compose clear, concise correspondence. Ability to multi task and utilize several software systems throughout the dayPreferred Position Qualifications:
3 years of progressive medical office experience to include basic insurance knowledge which includes referrals and authorizations. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced workplace with a high volume of work and frequent interruptions. Ability to think critically and apply knowledge analytically Organizational skills are essential. Experience with Physical Therapy preferred Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients, employers, third party administrators, State and Federal agencies and co-workers. Thorough knowledge and understanding of patient scheduling, electronic medical records, and electronic healthcare and telephone systems. Working knowledge of third-party insurers, medical terminology andICD10/CPT
coding principles.Technical Skills:
