Our practice provides compassionate, evidence-based medical care for children from newborns through age 18, offering families accessible, high-quality pediatric services. The practice is locally owned by board-certified pediatricians and working moms. In-house behavioral health therapy and lactation support complement medical services, reflecting a whole-child, whole-family approach to care. Role Description We are seeking both full-time and part-time Patient Services Representatives to join our urgent care in Birmingham, MI. This role manages front desk responsibilities, including greeting patients and families, checking them in and out, and ensuring accurate collection and entry of demographic and insurance information. The representative schedules and confirms appointments, answers incoming calls, and responds to patient inquiries with professional, courteous phone etiquette. This role is an integral part of a larger team and requires close collaboration, excellent communication, and a solutions-oriented attitude.
Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a welcoming, professional, and positive experience for every patient, visitor, and co-worker Greeting patients, supporting scheduling, and completing check-ins for appointments via phone in our call center and face-to-face at our front desk. Accurate documentation of demographic and insurance information. Verification of insurance information via third party websites. Collecting and posting payments. Obtaining appropriate forms and scan into medical records. Reviewing practice policies and notice of privacy practices with patients/guardians. Support the training and education of new team members. Completion and follow up on visit tasks. Working knowledge of Medical Terminology to understand provider orders, document visits, and communicate effectively with clinical staff. Adherence to HIPAA and other privacy regulations. Required Qualifications 2 years of experience in a customer service role Strong organizational skills, including managing calendars, coordinating follow-up visits, and handling high call volumes efficiently. Ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and respectfully with patients and families of diverse backgrounds. High school diploma or equivalent required Ability to work on-site in Birmingham, MI. Support families with empathy and cultural sensitivity. Must be willing to receive annual flu and COVID vaccines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Post-secondary coursework in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred. Prior experience in a pediatric or family medicine setting preferred. Availability to work within, but not all of, the hours listed below:

3pm
  • 11pm Weekend rotation: 11am
  • 11pm Holiday rotation: 9am
