It includes verification of benefits and communication with the insurance companies. It requires a broad knowledge of the hospital charge posting system and working with the hospital departments to verify charges, captures lost charges, and to review the general appropriateness of account balances. Responsibilities (25%)- Verify inpatient and outpatient accounts for insurance eligibility (25%)
- Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable (25%)
- Review claims for correct codes, appropriate charges and general accuracy (25%)
- Post payments and adjustments according to payer requirements
