Job Description

Clinic Appointment Coordinator
  • Medical Office Salary range: $39,520 to $47,840 per year
THE POSITION
  • Great Lakes Orhopaedic Center is seeking a self-starting, experienced individual to join our clinic as a Clinic Appointment Coordinator.
This person would be a dedicated resource to our scheduling department for five locations to ensure appointments are made per physician protocols and to locations that serve patients most efficiently. This position requires you have close attention to detail, impeccable phone etiquette, and working knowledge of common medical terminology. Our ideal candidate has prior receptionist experience, especially in a medical setting, with excellent data entry and communication skills. This is a Monday
  • Friday, 8:00 am
  • 5:00 pm position
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Determine the most appropriate provider, service, and location for appointment based on scheduling guidelines, provider preferences, and patient/referring provider preferences.
  • Provide accurate information to patients regarding various services, providers, and locations available within the Great Lakes Orthopaedic Center division.
  • Contact patients from applicable work lists to schedule appointments following established policies and procedures.
  • Schedule/reschedule appointments in the scheduling system, following established policy and procedures
  • Keep current updated information on physician schedules
  • Provide Front Desk coverage as needed
  • Monitor voicemail of assigned locations
  • Maintain liaison and foster collaboration with other departments
  • Must demonstrate a high level of customer service. Must be courteous and helpful without regard to manner of the caller/patient
  • Performs work under guidance of Clinic Management
THE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Knowledge of common medical terminology
  • Prior receptionist/phone experience, ideally in a medical clinic environment
  • Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
  • Comfortable with continuous change, is self
  • directed, and can take initiative
  • Organized and able to assess needs quickly
