The Referral Coordinator is responsible for managing and processing client referrals in a mental health practice. This role serves as a key liaison between clients, providers, insurance companies, and external healthcare organizations to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant referral coordination. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and experienced in healthcare administrative workflows.

Part-time Key Responsibilities:
Receive, review, and process incoming and outgoing mental health referrals Maintain accurate referral documentation within the internal systems being used Track referral outcomes and follow up on pending or incomplete referrals Collaborate with external providers, hospitals, and community mental health resources Communicate with clients regarding referral status, scheduling, and required documentation Schedule appointments accurately with the appropriate providers Know and be able to explain the types of services each client is being seen for and the appointments being scheduled Identify and resolve referral-related issues in a timely and professional manner Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Some experience in healthcare administration, referrals, or mental health services preferred but not required Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office applications Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and empathy
