Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part - time with the potential of being a full time Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team As a Medical records/Referrals coordinator . Your role would be to Answer phones, Complete Faxes, Home Health Supplies request, Medical Records and anything else to help thhe admin team in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations that these are done in a timely matter. Providing exceptional patient service and administrative support. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in computer systems, and a commitment to maintaining a welcoming environment for patients. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression of the clinic. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently. Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar using electronic health record systems such as Epic. Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, for accuracy. Handle medical collections and process payments as necessary. Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records with attention to detail. Assist with coding for insurance claims to ensure proper billing procedures are followed. Utilize 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry and record management. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Experience Previous experience in a medical office with referrals, faxes, and medical records setting is preferred but not required. Strong background in patient service and customer service is essential. Proficiency in computerized systems for scheduling and record keeping is necessary. Familiarity with medical terminology, coding practices, and administrative tasks will be advantageous. Excellent typing skills with an emphasis on accuracy and speed are required.
