Job Description

Patient Services Representative Pay:
$20-$22/hr.
Location:
Mercer County, NJ (100% onsite) Our client, a well-established and growing healthcare provider with multiple locations across the region, is looking for a Patient Services Representative to join their team on a temp-to-perm basis (conversion expected after 4-6 months). This is a customer-facing healthcare admin role — mostly phone-based, not face-to-face with patients — focused on insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, and making sure patients are cleared for treatment and billing.
Responsibilities:
Prepare work orders and obtain required documentation for insurance companies/plans Verify patient benefits and pre-certify services Coordinate with providers to prep charts for billing, including letters of medical necessity and financial worksheets Navigate varying procedures across different insurance companies and plans Document in the EMR system and maintain accurate charting Provide excellent, professional customer service to all patients Support smooth flow of service across the office Assist with other duties as assigned
Requirements:
3-5 years of healthcare experience (administrative background preferred; can be combined experience or longevity at one company) Background as a Medical Receptionist, Patient Services Coordinator, Insurance Verification Specialist, or similar (hospital or specialty practice experience a plus) Experience with insurance verifications, pre-authorizations, and EOBs EMR systems and charting experience required Strong interpersonal and follow-up skills with a professional, upbeat attitude Comfortable working primarily over the phone

Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30
