The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. The Patient Access Representative Per Diem opening is the first face for a patient entering one of our RWJBH facilities! If you have empathy, customer service skills, an understanding of medical terminology, and love to be patient facing, please consider applying to this opening. As a Patient Access Representative, a typical day might include: Playing a key role in the health system and in providing excellent customer service while ensuring timely throughput and capturing all necessary data timely. Greet all patients in a timely and friendly manner. A core function of this position is to ensure that all customers, external and internal, are treated with the highest level of respect. Provide a safe and secure environment for the patient during the registration process. Clearly review and communicate all forms and obtain required signatures for services provided. Ensure accuracy and thoroughness in collecting and documentation of the patient's demographic and insurance information and utilizes the technology available to complete the registration. Participates in creating a positive environment for patient and colleague satisfaction. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments. Collecting co-payments, issuing receipts, and reconcile daily cash within the PFS Department. This role might be for you if: You lead with compassion in interactions and have patience and empathy. You are extremely detail oriented and organized. You are willing and able to come on-site to Monmouth Medical Center. You can meet the Per Diem minimum monthly requirements. To be considered for this opportunity, you must meet the following requirements: You have a High School Diploma or equivalent. You have developed a strong understanding of healthcare operations and medical terminology. You have excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of all aspects of registration, Non-Federal and Federal billing regulations, and state programs such as Charity Care is preferred. You are tech-savvy and have computer skills.
