Job Description

Patient Access Specialist I Position Summary:
The Patient Access Specialist I (PAS I) will check-in patients upon arrival, identify correct patient information in Hospital Systems, verify patient demographic data, and edit as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma required. Experience Two (2) years previous customer service/administrative clerical experience required. One (1) year experience in patient registration in a medical environment preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration Medical Terminology certification or equivalent preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Greet all patients and their accompanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service. Accurately identify the appropriate account for patient visit and will present and educate patients on required forms and obtain signature as required by policy and procedure. Complete all check-in files and manage all appropriate processes specific to the patient and their visit. Collect and post co-payments and balances on accounts due. Effectively utilize strong organizational skills. Consistently display effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required. Display exemplary core customer service skills. Complete other duties as assigned by department leadership.
