This role helps ensure patients receive meals that meet physician diet orders while providing excellent customer service and clear communication. Key Responsibilities Patient Service Assist patients with ordering meals and explain how to use the meal ordering system Provide friendly and professional service to enhance the patient experience Meal Accuracy & Diet Compliance Ensure meals meet physician diet orders and dietary restrictions Respond quickly to diet order changes and update patient menus accordingly Communication Coordinate with nursing staff, dietitians, and department leadership regarding patient needs and concerns Maintain clear communication to support smooth food service operations Protocol Monitoring Follow NPO (nothing by mouth) and tube feeding protocols Monitor patient dietary statuses to ensure safety and accuracy Food Service Support Maintain menu tallies for food production Assist with tray delivery coordination when needed Technology Use Utilize computer systems to process meal orders and update dietary information Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 1-2 years of college coursework in a related field preferred Previous experience in hospital food service, restaurant, or similar environment preferred Strong customer service skills and communication ability Basic computer skills required Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English If you enjoy helping others and want to be part of a team that supports patient care, we encourage you to apply.
