Job Description

Patient Collections Representative - Medical A Patient Collections Representative is responsible for contacting patients regarding outstanding medical bills, collecting payments, setting up payment arrangements, and resolving billing inquiries. This role works closely with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to ensure accurate account balances and timely payment of medical services. Responsibilities include reviewing patient accounts, following up on delinquent balances, processing payments, maintaining detailed records, and providing excellent customer service while complying with healthcare privacy regulations (HIPAA).

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent required 1+ years of experience in healthcare billing strongly preferred 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel required Demonstrated computer literacy, proficient with practice's EMR Deliver exceptional customer service skills Able to work calmly in a fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on quality and accuracy Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA statutes/regulations, and policies/procedures
Key Skills:
Medical billing and collections knowledge Customer service and communication Insurance verification and claims understanding Payment processing and account management Attention to detail and problem-solving Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare regulations
Typical Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Experience in medical billing, collections, or healthcare administration preferred Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
