Patient Access Representative Brookshire w/WIC - Brookshire, TX 77423 Apply Overview Job Shift Day Education Level High School Travel Percentage None Apply Description Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Patient Access Representative to join our Patient Access team. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for patients by managing appointments, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and supporting provider schedules. You'll be the first point of contact for patients and play a key role in building trust and rapport. Key Responsibilities Schedule patient appointments and accurately enter data into the system. Collect and verify demographic, insurance, and financial information. Explain and obtain signatures for required forms. Ensure compliance with medical necessity and authorization requirements. Collect patient payments and establish payment arrangements. Post payments and generate receipts. Resolve patient account issues and maintain thorough documentation. Communicate professionally with patients, families, providers, and staff. Meet performance metrics and participate in team projects and meetings. Qualifications Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Typing proficiency required. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. 1 year of experience in a medical setting or 3 years in customer service/reception preferred. Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks. Familiarity with office equipment and basic billing/insurance principles. Willingness to work alternative shifts, weekends, and travel to multiple locations as needed. Commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Physical & Work Environment Must be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. Moderate noise level; indoor work environment. May require standing, walking, sitting, and other physical activities. Regular schedule may include early mornings and Saturdays based on department needs.
