Positions Summary:
The Admissions Coordinator supports the Admissions team in all the responsibilities of the Admissions Department.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Meets budgetary census goals Screens prospective residents to determine financial status at time of admission and categories by Medicare, Medicaid, Insurance, and Private Pay Educates the person inquiring about an admission to the Facility Promptly talks with persons arriving at Facility to inquire about our services and discusses with callers the facility's function. Asks pertinent questions of inquirer to establish appropriateness of level of care and to determine if prospective resident may have insurance coverage. Tours prospective resident or guardians through the Facility Describes available services and accommodations Provides state survey results for Facility as requested Portrays the quality of staff Listens to future resident's needs and educate how we will meet those needs Emphasizes areas other than resident's room that are available for the resident and the responsible party. Gathers information of prospective resident and later of resident Obtains general information about prospective resident by interviewing prospective resident or responsible party Acquires financial information about the prospective resident Establishes financial resources of prospective resident by obtaining a completed admission agreement Inquiries about insurance coverage and verifies insurance benefits Educates resident or guardian of Medicare coverage in nursing home center whenever appropriate Answers inquiries about the medical assistance coverage in nursing home settings Enrolls new admissions Accurately completes, with the resident or guardian, the required admission enrollment packet of forms Educates the resident and or guardian by explaining the content Distributes the completed forms to appropriate departments Maintains an accurate census and statistics Updates all census forms daily by adding new admissions, subtracting discharges, maintaining a behold list, and indicating changes in room accommodations, insurance coverage, financial status code Maintains excellent relationships with referral sources Informs Administrator of new referral sources and appropriate changes in the pattern of referrals Completes an inquiry form for all inquiries for follow up, statistics, and for providing important marketing information to the Administrator Coordinates in-house transfersQUALITY & PRODUCTIVITY
