Job Description

Inova Health Center 8081 - Fairfax East is looking for a dedicated Patient Access Specialist Sr - Oncology to join the team. This role will be full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Oncology Job Responsibilities:
Patient Intake, Registration & Documentation:
Audits records and documentation for accuracy, troubleshoots discrepancies, and supports escalations.
Administrative & Technology Operations:
Compiles reports, troubleshoots system issues, and supports peers.
Case Management Tasks:
Audits referrals and supports escalations.
Financial Counseling:
Conducts financial reviews and mentors staff.
Insurance & Contract Coordination:
Troubleshoots complex cases and educates peers on insurance contract nuances.
Inquiries & Patient Concerns:
Handles escalations and analyzes trends.
Kiosk:
Analyzes performance and trains staff on patient kiosks.
Patient Communication & Advocacy:
Handles sensitive concerns, audits logs, and advocates for patient needs.
Referrals:
Audits referral workflows and mentors staff.
Scheduling:
Schedules surgeries and verifies readiness.
Transport:
Solves transport issues and audits logs. Health Information Management (HIM)
Coordination:
Liaises with Health Information Management (HIM) on merges and audits medical record numbers (MRNs).
Utilization Review Coordination:
Supports escalations for medical necessity. Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable federal and state regulations. May perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High School or GED Experience:
2 years of patient access experience

Strong communication skills, dependability, ability to work independently.
