Job Description

Ophthalmology (Retina) practice in McLean, Virginia, is seeking an experienced, and motivated Senior Patient Service Representative (SPSR) with strong interpersonal and communication skills with motivation for career growth.
REQUIREMENTS
Patient Service Representative with experience in a medical office setting, 1-2+ years
Direct Report:
Reports to the Medical Director Pay amount: Compensation commensurate with experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer all in-coming calls and is responsible for scheduling patient appointments; alert management of patients that require immediate attention Schedule patient appointment following office protocols; verify insurance, check insurance eligibility and demographic information during initial scheduling and at each visit Greeting and checking patients in and out for appointments; collect co-payments and patient balances Obtain insurance pre-certification and referrals as needed
Position Requirements:
Knowledge of medical practice procedures and functions preferred Knowledge of insurance procedures including Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care Plans Experience with computers, electronic practice management system and patient scheduling system, electronic health record (EHR) system
Education:
High school diploma required Bachelor's degree preferred ​​​​​​​ Employment with Retina and Uveitis Center (RUC) is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, which may include, but is not limited to; contacting your professional references, verification of previous employment, addresses, education, and credentials, a criminal background check, and drug screening.
