JOB DESCRIPTION
The Admissions Coordinator plays a vital role in our organization by managing the intake process and ensuring that all admission criteria are met for prospective clients. This position involves direct interaction with clients, their families, and referral sources, providing essential information and facilitating a seamless admission experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond to incoming program inquiries and referrals via telephone, fax, and/or internet in a timely manner. Provide comprehensive information to potential clients, families, and referral sources regarding available treatment programs, insurance details, and admission procedures. Obtain initial client clinical and funding source information during the admission inquiry phase. Conduct the admission process with potential clients, which includes explaining admission forms, securing appropriate signatures, processing all signed forms, and distributing copies to relevant parties in a timely fashion. Collect accurate demographic and financial information during initial inquiry calls. Recognize and assist in crisis situations, providing interventions based on training and experience. Provide community awareness education and in-services on behalf of Gateway Services LLC as assigned. Communicate regularly with referral sources and families regarding patient status. Adheres to policies, procedures, and ethical standards as established by Gateway Services, LLC, Virginia Department of Behavioral Health Developmental Services, Department of Medical Assistance Services, and Local Human Rights Committee. Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of client information. Consistent exhibition of the mental and emotional capacity to understand and perform the essential functions of the job. Exceptional customer service skills are essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software. Current CPR Certification and First Aid Certification Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details. EDUCATION, LiCENSURE, AND
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Prior experience in the mental health or behavioral health field is preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must submit to and receive satisfactory results from a criminal background investigation and a registry check by the Department of Social Services.
