As a private, nonprofit Community Action Agency, we are dedicated to our mission to create opportunities for people and communities to reduce poverty and increase self-sufficiency. Health Services Assistant - Head Start - Fond du Lac ADVOCAP's Head Start program is accepting applications for a Health Services Assistant at our Fond du Lac Head Start Center. Head Start prepares children ages 3-5 with quality early childhood education in Fond du Lac and Green Lake counties. We help families reach financial, career, and educational goals, while building resilience and confidence for the entire family. This position provides administrative and programmatic support to ensure children receive timely, comprehensive health services in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards. This position assists the Health Services Manager by coordinating communication with healthcare providers and families, maintaining accurate child health records and data systems, supporting health-related events and screenings, and helping ensure all health requirements are completed to promote children's overall well-being and school readiness.
Responsibilities Include:
Assist the Health Services Manager in implementing and monitoring comprehensive health services for approximately 202 enrolled children in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and program policies Assist the Health Services Manager in monitoring and tracking child health requirements to ensure physical exams, immunizations, oral health, vision, hearing, lead, developmental, and other required screenings and follow-up services are completed within federally required timelines Maintain accurate and confidential child health records in the program's data management system, including timely data entry, documentation, and reporting Contact healthcare providers, dental providers, specialists, and community agencies on behalf of children and families to obtain required documentation, coordinate appointments, and facilitate follow-up care Communicate with families regarding outstanding health requirements, provide reminders, and assist families in accessing needed health services and community resources Serve as the primary point of contact for Head Start cooks, providing day-to-day communication, coordination, and support related to nutrition services
Job Requirements:
An associate's degree from a 2-year college/tech school and twelve to eighteen months of previous work experience are required to meet job standards. Must possess a valid driver's license and travel occasionally up to 20% of the time using a personal vehicle; mileage reimbursement provided per Agency policy Physical/tb/drug screen and comprehensive background check required Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic
Salary and Benefits:
This full-time position will work 36 hours per week, Monday—Thursday with occasional Fridays and weekends. The entry/starting wage for this position is $19.99 per hour, negotiable based on experience.
