Position:

Traveling RRT — $2,300 per week for a 13-week contract Responsibilities Provide assessment, treatment and ongoing respiratory care for adult and/or pediatric patients in acute care settings. Manage mechanical ventilation including set-up, adjustments, weaning, and ventilator troubleshooting per protocol.

Perform airway management:

intubation support, extubation readiness assessments, suctioning, and tracheostomy care. Obtain and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs) and recommend appropriate interventions. Administer aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, and pulmonary hygiene treatments. Respond to rapid response and code situations as needed, providing respiratory support and advanced airway interventions. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans. Maintain accurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatments, and patient responses per facility policy. Follow infection control and safety standards and participate in unit orientation for travel assignment. Required Skills Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC (or eligible as specified by assignment). Active state respiratory care licensure (or ability to obtain temporary licensure for the assignment). Proven experience with mechanical ventilation management and critical care respiratory care (typically 1+ years acute care experience preferred). Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills; ability to prioritize in high-acuity settings. Proficient in ABG interpretation, ventilator modes, and troubleshooting equipment. Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or required depending on facility. Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
