A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Category Respiratory Therapist Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic respiratory care environment at a well-established, high-acuity hospital recognized as a Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, with an outstanding Level
III NICU.
In this contract position, you will play a key role delivering quality respiratory therapy services to a diverse patient population, including adults and neonates, in a facility with over 490 beds.
Schedule/Hours:
12-hour shifts: 7:00a-7:00p or 7:00p-7:00a Every other weekend rotation Voluntary on-call opportunities Holiday coverage: one major and one minor per policy Up to 7 days off available, excluding blackout dates
Qualifications:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) considered with minimum 2 years' recent experience Valid BLS required; NRP mandatory for NICU roles
ACLS/APLS
preferred Experience in a Level
III NICU
within the past 12 months for NICU applicants Proficiency with Cerner or
EPIC EMR
systems essential Prior experience as a traveler welcome, provided you have at least 2 years' direct experience and the required EMR background
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver respiratory care to adult and neonatal patients, including those in critical care Perform NICU respiratory therapy, including ground transports and administration of Nitric Oxide (for NICU roles) Float between like patient care units, including transitioning between adult and NICU assignments as needed Utilize advanced hospital technology, including PB 840/980, Drager, LTV ventilators, Spacelabs monitors, and Omnicell medication dispensing
