A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Location:
20 minutes from Monte Vista, CO 81144 Full-Time Variable Schedule Rotating Weekends A healthcare organization in Southern Colorado is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join its patient-centered respiratory care team. This position offers the opportunity to work in an acute care setting while enjoying the scenic beauty and outdoor recreation of the San Luis Valley region. Responsibilities Provide respiratory therapy treatments and assessments Monitor and manage patients with cardiopulmonary conditions Operate and maintain respiratory care equipment Assist with ventilator management and airway care Perform arterial blood gas collection and analysis Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program CRT or RRT credential required Colorado Respiratory Therapist license or eligibility BLS certification required ACLS preferred Schedule Full-time position Variable shifts Rotating weekends required Benefits Competitive compensation Comprehensive benefits package Paid time off Retirement plan Continuing education opportunities Supportive team environment ATK63
