A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Additional certifications such as NRP, PALS, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support are required within specified timeframes depending on unit assignment. The role involves providing advanced respiratory care in a complex clinical setting, managing ventilators, airway support, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
