• Job Description:

• StaffFlex contract, 13 weeks Certified or Registered Resp Therapist $47.

60/hr + differential 7p-7a, open availability No on-call Time off must be pre-approved Current/recent RT experience required Primary patient population: adolescent, adult and geriatric + Delivers routine respiratory treatments and continuous respiratory therapy including aerosol therapy, lung expansion therapy, oxygen therapy, and bronchial hygiene. + Monitors, instructs, and coaches patients before, during, and after treatment delivery. + Prevents and/or resolves untoward side effects and adjusts therapies according to protocol and documented clinical criteria. + Reevaluates patient/ventilator interface a minimum of every four hours, responds to alarms, and troubleshoots as needed. + Establishes weaning readiness and facilitates the weaning process, adjusting ventilator settings in accordance with patient progress. + Draws and analyzes arterial and capillary blood gases, places arterial lines, and makes or recommends changes in respiratory management according to blood gas results. + Recommends changes in respiratory plan of care according to documented medical necessity and within established protocols. + Ensures the effectiveness of therapist assessment and reassessment by monitoring patient progress. + Makes and/or recommends changes based on pulse oximetry, peak flow measurement, chest x-ray, lab work, and other data relevant to optimal patient progress. + Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation, determining or guiding the determination of ventilator mode and settings. + Performs other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• + Patient care skills to care for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations are required.
