This role provides respiratory services across contracted skilled nursing facilities and patient homes, supporting patient-centered care through pulmonary assessment, oxygen weaning, equipment management, and clinical intervention. The Respiratory Therapist plays a key role in improving patient outcomes, enhancing quality of life, and reducing unplanned hospital readmissions while ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical standards. Key Responsibilities:
Perform pulmonary assessments on admission and with changes in patient condition Support oxygen weaning and medication management in alignment with care plans and clinical standards Manage respiratory equipment and supplies, including oxygen, pulse oximetry, and BiPAP/CPAP devices Respond to respiratory exacerbations within skilled nursing facilities Complete daily respiratory therapy orders and follow up on apnea monitor and ventilator patients Provide patient and caregiver education on equipment setup, usage, maintenance, and safety Perform diagnostic testing as ordered by physicians Communicate with physicians regarding patient progress and order clarification Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support timely interventions and quality outcomes Maintain compliance with state regulations and facility respiratory care requirements
Job Duties:
Focus on clinical support and intervention, including assessment, oxygen management, and exacerbation response Routine breathing treatments are not administered in this role Services are delivered in skilled nursing facilities and patient homes via scheduled visits
Certifications & Licensures Required:
RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) considered Active NBRC credential (for RRT candidates) BLS (Basic Life Support) Valid driver's license
Education:
Associate's Degree or Technical Degree in
Respiratory Therapy Required Skills:
