  • Assess patients experiencing respiratory distress or cardiopulmonary conditions to determine appropriate therapies and develop individualized care plans.
  • Deliver and manage advanced respiratory treatments including oxygen therapy, airway support, and specialized interventions that improve breathing and oxygenation.
  • Monitor patient response and adjust respiratory care plans pro-actively to ensure safe, effective treatment and optimal clinical outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and treatment plans to promote understanding, confidence, and continuity of care after discharge.
  • Respond to emergency situations and code teams to provide life-saving airway management and respiratory support when it matters most.
What minimum requirements you'll need Licensure / Certification /
Registration:
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hiredate or job transfer date required.
Education:
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. What additional preferences we're seeking
  • ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications.

A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.
