Wellstar Health System is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist II for Cobb Hospital in Marietta, GA. In this role, you will deliver evidence-based respiratory care to acute and critical care patients, including oxygen therapy, ventilator management, aerosol therapies, and airway clearance. You will perform diagnostic tests, respond to rapid response and code situations, and collaborate closely with physicians and nurses. RRT IIs also precept junior staff, ensure accurate documentation, maintain equipment, and uphold safety, infection control, and quality standards in a compassionate, patient-centered environment. Responsibilities Deliver respiratory care treatments and therapies per provider orders and protocols Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation and related equipment Obtain and interpret arterial blood gases and other respiratory diagnostics Respond to rapid response, code, and respiratory distress situations Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams on care plans Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, therapies, and equipment use Precept and mentor new or junior respiratory therapy staff and students Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment and supplies Ensure accurate, timely EMR documentation of all treatments and assessments Comply with infection control, safety, and quality improvement standards Required Skills Respiratory therapy procedures Mechanical ventilation management Arterial blood gas sampling and analysis Pulmonary function testing Airway management Respiratory care documentation (EMR) Respiratory equipment troubleshooting and maintenance Infection control practices Rapid response and code support Patient and family education
