Respiratory Therapist II responsible for delivering complex respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment primarily in critical care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide patient-centered respiratory care, including ventilator management, airway procedures, and arterial blood gas sampling. Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans. Educate patients, families, and support systems, and mentor new staff and students. Ensure patient safety through accurate documentation, adherence to protocols, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. Perform invasive and non-invasive procedures, and support pulmonary diagnostics as needed. Contribute to a positive team environment and promote evidence-based practices.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with at least 20 science hours. Associate's degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
Certifications:
NBRC-RRT, RCP, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
(or provisional). All certifications required upon hire. 0-2 years clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
