Full Job Description Role Overview:
The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessments in complex clinical situations, primarily in critical care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality patient care through assessments, therapy planning, and procedures such as ventilator management, airway management, and arterial blood gas sampling. Educate patients, families, and support systems, while mentoring new employees and students. Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate care and ensure safe, evidence-based practices. Promote a positive, team-oriented environment and support quality improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate documentation, electronic orders, and promote patient safety and medication safety protocols. Participate in invasive and non-invasive procedures, pulmonary diagnostics, and cardiac service procedures as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred). Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT or RCP required upon hire. 0-2 years of clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care. Strong communication, critical thinking, assessment, and interpersonal skills, along with computer proficiency.
