experience. Newly hired respiratory therapists receive a 4-6 week orientation, with preceptors. An additional 4-6 week (approx.) NICU/PICU orientation will follow your general orientation period. Respiratory therapists trained to work in NICU and PICU also rotate through the adult ICU, floors, ED, and participate on the transport team. We welcome experienced and new graduates. Licensure from the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners, current NBRC Credential, and BLS are required for employment. The individual chosen for this position will be required to attend a hospital-wide orientation upon hire date.
