Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Detroit, MI
Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients in a hospital setting. This role requires a strong understanding of pediatric respiratory therapy techniques, medication administration, and the ability to ventilate patients effectively. The Respiratory Therapist will work closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Certs:
AHA ACLS AHA BLS RRT
Duties Perform ventilator management, airway clearance, and patient assessments, working 12-hour shifts. Weaning patients from ventilators. Conducting pulmonary function tests Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures as prescribed by physicians. Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status, including vital signs and oxygen saturation levels. Administer medications related to respiratory care, ensuring proper dosages and techniques. Collaborate with the healthcare team in developing and implementing patient care plans. Educate patients and their families on respiratory health management and equipment usage. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department. Floating as needed. Skills Proficient in respiratory therapy techniques, including ventilating patients effectively. Knowledgeable in pediatric population and pulmonology practices. Experience with pediatrics, particularly within hospital or ICU environments. Strong skills in medication administration related to respiratory treatments. Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) procedures when necessary. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education. Strong critical thinking skills to assess patient needs and respond appropriately.
