Baptist Memorial Health seeks a PRN Registered Respiratory Therapist to deliver high-quality, faith-based respiratory care to patients across our Memphis facility. In this flexible, as-needed role, you will assess and treat patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, manage ventilators and oxygen therapy, and respond to respiratory emergencies. You'll collaborate closely with a compassionate, interdisciplinary team, use advanced equipment and protocols, and support patient and family education in a mission-driven, patient-centered environment. Responsibilities Provide respiratory care assessments, treatments, and monitoring for acute and chronic patients per physician orders Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, ventilator support, and airway management interventions Set up, operate, and troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment, ensuring safety and accuracy Respond to respiratory emergencies, including codes and rapid response calls, following hospital protocols Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, equipment use, and home-care techniques Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record Maintain infection control, equipment cleaning, and quality standards within the respiratory care department Required Skills Respiratory assessment Mechanical ventilation management Oxygen therapy administration Arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation Airway management and suctioning Nebulizer and aerosol therapy Pulmonary function testing basics Electronic medical record documentation Infection control and isolation practices Emergency and code response
