A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Description
The Respiratory Care Polysomnographic Technologist provides quality diagnostic sleep services to patients of all ages, adjusting approach to meet the age specific needs of assigned patients.

Responsible for calibration and quality control of diagnostic sleep equipment. Assures that reports are accurate and ready for the interpreting physician in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications:

Coursework/Training and Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program RRT or CRT
Upon hire: Montana Respiratory Care Practitioner License
Upon hire: National Provider BLS
American Heart Association
Preferred qualifications:
Coursework/Training and Polysomnogram Training Course
