Schedule/Hours:
On-call as required (days, nights, weekends, and holidays)
Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive respiratory care, including airway and mechanical ventilator management, oxygen and aerosol therapies, and patient assessments Perform advanced airway procedures: tracheostomy care, tube changes, intubations/extubations, and aspiration of established airways Conduct bedside pulmonary function testing and arterial punctures as appropriate Manage pediatric and neonatal transports in accordance with advanced air care protocols (when assigned) Execute advanced clinical procedures (IV/UAC/UVC insertions, chest tube insertions, needle decompressions, blood glucose/ABG monitoring) Support ECMO patients, managing extracorporeal circulation for cardiac/respiratory support (when assigned) Independently oversee ventilator setups, monitoring, and weaning, using specialized ventilator modes Maintain up-to-date knowledge, guide junior staff, and ensure best-practice care
Qualifications:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years recent pediatric experience Current ACLS, PALS, NRP, and BLS certifications (AHA) Ability to function independently with initiative and sound clinical judgment
