Position Overview The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care services to pediatric patients with complex medical needs. This role works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver safe, effective, and family-centered care. This position requires a minimum of 2 shifts per 4 week period to be offered. This is an 1199-represented position. Key Responsibilities Deliver respiratory therapy treatments in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols Monitor and assess patients' respiratory status, including ventilator management Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and airway clearance treatments Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in rapid response/code teams Educate families and caregivers on respiratory care and equipment use Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support individualized patient care plans
Requirements Required:
Current New York State Respiratory Therapist license Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred or eligible Experience in pediatric, neonatal, or critical care settings strongly preferred Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Preferred:
