A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Hillcrest Hospital South, a full-service 180-bed facility located in south Tulsa, offers a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services utilizing cutting-edge technology in a welcoming community environment. As the only DNV Orthopedic Center of Excellence (OCE) in Oklahoma, Hillcrest South stands out for its exceptional orthopedic care. The hospital's RN residency program is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Practice Transition Accreditation Program and Pathway to Excellence, ensuring high-quality training for nurses. Responsible for providing care which includes assessment, treatment, control diagnostic evaluation of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. Consults with physicians. Provides consultation, instruction and/or technical direction of medical, nursing and other staff members.

Job Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science (A.S. degree required/ B.S. degree preferred). NBRC credential as a RRT or new graduate that obtains

RRT NBRC

credential within 6 months of graduation and or a newly hired CRT that obtains RRT within 6 months of hire. Active Oklahoma Respiratory Care Professional License as outlined by the OK Medical Board. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Must obtain ACLS, within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Job Requirements:

NICU experience
