Respiratory Therapist Registered Performs assessment of patient respiratory status, provides respiratory treatments, evaluates patient's response to effectiveness of care delivered, provides patient education regarding respiratory treatments, health and wellness.EXPECTATION FOR ALL EMPLOYEES

Performs assessment of patient respiratory status, provides respiratory treatments, evaluates patient's response to effectiveness of care delivered, provides patient education regarding respiratory treatments, health and wellness.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assesses patient with respect to pulmonary function/respiratory status Provides respiratory treatments and utilizes equipment that supports or improves ventilatory function Evaluates, records, and reports effectiveness of treatments and patient response Provides patient education regarding treatment, health, and wellness; evaluates patient/family response to teaching Collaborates with interdisciplinary patient care team regarding plan of care, with focus on impact of patient's respiratory status on overall condition/progress/health Performs other duties as assignedSKILLS AND ABILITIES
Reads, writes legibly, converses effectively in the English language Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and software programs applicable to the position, e.g. electronic documentation programs Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job locationEDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES
High school graduate, or equivalent (copy of academic degree or transcript will be required upon hire if performing Moderate Complexity Testing) American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) card or must be obtained by the last day of the month after the 6 month grace period American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurses' Association Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) card or must be obtained by the last day of the month after the 1 year grace period American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider card or must be obtained by the last day of the month after the 1 year grace period Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Oregon and Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)EXPERIENCE
One or more years experience as a respiratory therapist in an acute hospital setting preferredGENERAL INFORMATION
