A Respiratory Therapist assists patients who have trouble breathing because of a chronic respiratory illness, trauma, or other conditions. Administers tests to diagnose breathing problems, performs treatments to help patients breathe easier, or sets up breathing equipment such as ventilators. Works closely with physicians and other healthcare workers, and may also assist in providing emergency care to patients suffering from heart attacks, drowning, or shock. Works in hospitals; may also provide care and counseling to patients in their homes.

Job Description

GENERAL Position Overview Responsible for providing basic and advance Respiratory Care services to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The therapist proficiently plans, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of Respiratory Care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education Must be a graduate of an accredited AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy Experience Three (3) or more years of experience in all aspects of cardiopulmonary services highly desired Knowledge Of Applicable federal and state regulations and requirements; basic computer skills.
Licenses / Certifications
/ Registries Licensed by the State of Texas as a Respiratory Therapy Practitioner; ACLS certification; Neonatal Resuscitation certification. OTHERS Personality / Interpersonal Skills Appreciation of and the desire to be part of a health care team dedicated to providing patients optimal care. Employment Type Full-time and Part-time
