Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity in Birmingham, Alabama, providing impactful speech-language pathology services for a diverse student population. This school-based position starts immediately and runs through June 10, with placement tailored to current needs across various school sites. In this collaborative environment, you'll apply your expertise to assess, diagnose, and address communication and learning challenges, all while supporting students' growth and potential. Youll find your background in pediatric and adolescent development, as well as familiarity with state and federal regulations, key to helping students thrive.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Valid Professional Educator Certification Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited college/university Strong understanding of laws and guidelines for the education of children with disabilities Proficient in evaluating childhood development and implementing assessments related to physical and learning disabilities Experience compiling and analyzing data, with an ability to interpret pertinent educational policies and regulations Solid grasp of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) Effective communicator (oral and written)
Preferred Qualifications:
ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure Responsibilities:
Conduct student assessments and provide individualized therapy plans Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support each students learning Maintain clear documentation and track student progress Support compliance with all legal and educational requirements for special populations Youll have a direct impact on Birmingham-area students, working exclusively on-site in a dynamic and supportive school environment.
