9619404-35124 Job Description Step into a school-based role working with a diverse student population across multiple sites in the Birmingham, AL area. This contract position offers the chance to make a positive impact by supporting students communication needs in a collaborative, educational environment. The opportunity spans from August 4th, 2026 through May 27th, 2027, with a full-time weekly schedule of 37.5 hours and an approximate caseload of 60 students. This assignment involves direct, onsite service at several school locations, ranging from preschool through high school.

Desired Qualifications:

Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Current SLP-CCC or SLP-CF certification. Valid Alabama Speech-Language Pathologist license. SLP Educator certification for Alabama (required for school-based roles). Familiarity with IEP development and implementation. Prior experience in a school setting preferred, but motivated new graduates with state credentials are welcome. Ability to provide therapy, collaborate with school teams, and document progress efficiently. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Willingness to work fully onsiteremote or virtual placements are not available for this assignment.

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver speech-language therapy services to students at assigned schools (pre-K through high school). Maintain clear documentation for student progress and comply with all state, district, and federal requirements. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to support student goals. Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions. Serve as a resource for staff regarding speech and language development strategies.
