A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Job Summary The Speech and Language Pathologist is responsible for providing specialized speech and language instruction and services for students who have disorders of language and speech which includes hearing, voice, pragmatics/social communication, expressive/receptive language and fluency; performs language and speech assessments; assists in developing the Individualized Educational Program (IEP) for students with language and speech disorders; consults and collaborates with teachers and parents regarding strategies which enable access to and progress in the general education curriculum. This position will support and uphold the mission and vision of The Classical Academies.
